About Health Ireland Partners Ltd.

Health Ireland Partners Ltd. (HIP) was established as the result of a unique joint venture between the original owners of the HEALTH one software system and the Health Ireland User Group (HIUG), a co-operative of general practitioner users of HEALTH one in Ireland.

HEALTH one has been used by Irish doctors since it was first developed in the late 1980s to comply with emerging Global and European standards in electronic healthcare records. The growth in popularity of the original HEALTH one system in Ireland led to the establishment of a formal distribution and support company (HIP) in 1997.

Today, Health Ireland Partners supports over 400 medical practices throughout Ireland and has become the leading IT provider to the emerging Primary Care Team market. Our ongoing commitment to the development and use of standards compliant Electronic Medical Records is evident by the fact that since 1997 a new version of HEALTH one has been distributed on average every 18 months.

Prior to our appointment as official suppliers of medical informatics to the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in 2003, we established our own dedicated software development team based in Arklow Co. Wicklow, from where we continue to provide our users with all the functionality they require to carry out the varied tasks they encounter on a daily basis.

In late 2005 our user group (HIUG) increased its shareholding in the company to 65% as part of a successful management buyout which also secured the development and Intellectual Property rights to the HEALTH one software in Ireland. This ambitious and unique move on the part of HIUG has ensured that Irish users of the HEALTH one system are genuinely in a position to drive the development agenda and set the functional priorities for each new version according to their requirements.

Our inhouse sales and support staff are backed up by a nationwide team of specially trained authorised dealers who provide a complete one stop shop solution in terms of hardware, networks, communications and software. Please click on a link to find out more about our specialist centres.

HEALTHone for Primary Care Teams

HEALTH one is one of the most widely used clinical management systems in Ireland (ref GPIT Survey of GP computerisation www.gpit.ie).The system has evolved rapidly to become the system of choice among the majority of operational Primary Care Teams in Ireland. HEALTH one has a strong history of reliable data management, is highly standards compliant and is the only system available with an open and flexible architecture.

The PCT version of HEALTH one offered by Health Ireland Partners Ltd offers healthcare providers the opportunity to inter-communicate, thereby providing a true multi-disciplinary system of patient management that has hitherto been unavailable as part of an overall enterprise wide solution.

The company has solid experience in implementing Terminal Services and Citrix, the preferred model for central hosting and remote access. The use of Citrix infrastructure enables central administration, support and rapid future expansion and deployment of Primary Community & Continuing Care units nationally.
